At Assess ("we", "our", or "us"), we build tools for lean hiring teams. We believe in speed, accuracy, and absolute data privacy.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use the Assess platform. We operate in strict compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 of India.

The Bottom Line: We do not sell your data. We do not sell candidate data. We encrypt everything.

1. The Data We Collect

We only collect the data necessary to generate hiring kits and evaluate candidates.

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and company details provided during waitlist sign-up or account creation.
  • Job Descriptions (JDs): The text of the job descriptions you paste into our platform.
  • Assessment Data: Candidate responses to domain and aptitude questions, timestamps, and calculated scores.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To Generate Tests: We process pasted JDs through our AI engine.
  • To Evaluate Candidates: We process responses to generate instant, ranked scores.
  • To Improve Assess: We monitor aggregate, anonymized usage data to optimize speed.

3. Third-Party Sub-Processors

By using Assess, you consent to data processing by our secure sub-processors:

  • OpenAI: We use OpenAI's API to generate tests. We have opted out of data sharing for model training; OpenAI does not use your JDs or candidate data to train their public models.
  • Vercel: Our application infrastructure is hosted securely on Vercel.

4. Security & Encryption

  • In Transit: All data moving between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
  • At Rest: All stored data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
